How many were built?

Differences between US and non-US models
- The exhaust is more restrictive - smaller diameter of the "piggies" (exhaust pipe extensions) on EU models than on US models.
- European models use VPKON carburetors
UK models use VPKOS carburettors.
- The original main jets in the UK are #78 while the USA uses #100 (Lamont).
- European models have clear-coated rims.
- Australian models have different gear ratios:

- European and Australian models have TPS sensor. Swiss and US models do not.

- With the exception of UK models, all non-US models have speed ratings in km/h

- EU models have black reflectors instead of yellow on the radiator side panels.

- EU models have E-marked headlights and turn signals and a different faceting than the SAE/DOT lenses.

- EU models have a light switch with on/off and parking light function. USA models do not have this.
- EU models have a separate key for the steering lock

- EU models have the VIN plate on the right side

- European models have larger diameter exhaust pipes than US models, which are also made of thicker steel (2 mm vs. 1.2 mm)
(Mark T).
- Canadian models come with two user manuals, one in
English and one in French.
- Radiator grilles on European models have a different hole pattern than on
USA models (Rattlebars).
- Australian Valks have an insert in the gas tank filler limiting them to the smaller diameter unleaded
gas nozzles.
- The original main jets in the UK are #78 while the USA uses #100
(Lamont).
- Japanese Tourer models have reverse (operated electrically with the starter motor)

- European models are called F6C rather than Valkyrie. They therefore have a different tank emblem to reflect this.

- USA models have speed ratings up to 145 mph (233 km/h)

- EU models have one rear reflector, while US models have two.

- USA models have SAE markings on the turn signals and DOT markings on the headlights. They also have parking lights in the turn signals.

- EU models and some Canadian -98 models have round mirrors

- USA models use the ignition key for the steering lock

- EU models do not have the secondary air supply system to reduce engine emissions.
