Summer meet 2021
Frya Leir

A cheerful group who were very ready to meet socially after a long time in quarantine.
The meeting took place 18.06 - 20.06, at Frya Leir in the Gudbransdalen valley. A group of us met at Gran. On our way north we drove by Tore Stensrud for a chat, and to look at his bike. We drove along the east side of Lake Mjøsa from Moelv to Lillehammer, and further along the west side northbound towards Frya. There we were warmly welcomed by the great host Wojciech who had set up benches, a campfire site and a tent ready for us.
We enjoyed ourselves outside in the nice weather, and around 8pm when everyone had arrived, we were served pizza. We spent the evening enjoying ourselves by the fire pit.

At the end of the gallery you will find an edited photo of our bikes when we visited Tore. This was done by oZ (RIP), one of the founders of VRCC in the USA. He was very fascinated by our activities in Norway, and loved to play around with modifying pictures of different Valkyries.

On Saturday we had planned a nice drive to Helvete (means hell), but ironically the floodgates of heaven opened so there was no temptation to drive partly on gravel. Now good advice came costly, and a phone call to Tommy's friends Anita and Dag-Karel saved the day. They took the challenge head on and showed up with two cars so we could complete the excursion. In Helvete we were served delicious food, and amusing stories about the origin of the place by the owner. We definitely recommend taking the trip here to see the famous giant's kettles, and get a culinary and cultural experience. Going to Hell is not as bad as you might think...
When we got back it was time to take a closer look at the bikes, and enjoy a lovely barbecue evening. Svein Emil from Dombås had followed our activities on Facebook, and decided to make the trip down and visit us. It was especially nice. Anita and Dag-Karel also joined us at the party that evening.
A special thank you to Anita and Dag-Karel for saving our meeting. You are great examples of how the MC community stands together.

After the trip it was time for a barbecue and socializing. We also had a visit from a couple of people in the evening, which was very nice. Tommy also got to test drive Dag-Karel's HD Pan America. A powerful machine. All in all, a successful meeting with lots of fun, shared experiences and good stories.

After a long time with little social contact, this meeting was a welcome break. At this time, restrictions were still in place, but we decided to try anyway. Even though not many people showed up, it was a very nice meeting.

Thank you to everyone who showed up and contributed to a memorable experience.
