How many were built?

OK, this is really stretching it. I have attempted to answer the question by rounding up the highest serial number for each variant and then adding up the totals for all variants. This assumes, of course, that all serial numbers within a variant are sequential (which I have no reason to believe they are not). Obviously, this is by no means science and only serves to give a rough approximation of the total number of Valkyries produced.
Regarding Rune, the numbers I have conflict with the numbers originally provided by Honda.
(1500 total claimed to have been produced with 15 allocated to Australia). But again, my numbers are based on serial numbers actually observed, and I stand by them as my best guess until something more official comes along.
The first 70 Valkyries were built on April 11, 1996, using the first 70 serial numbers. 69 bikes were black and chrome, and 1 was yellow and black.
"The Bumblebee" was built for American Motorcyclist Magazine's managing editor, Bill Wood, for use as a long-term loaner bike. He followed the bike along the assembly line and even rode the finished bike out of the factory himself.
1950 Valkyries were planned to be built in the month of April 1996. 3000 Valkyries were to be built by October 1996.
