Dates 26.08 - 28.08

Arne Ivar invited VRCC Norway and friends to attend the annual meeting at Mjøsvang in Valdres. There has been a motorcycle meeting here every year since 1971, and this was the original "Troll Rally". It was later moved to Fyresdal, but Mjøsvang has had its supporters anyway. 2-300 motorcyclists still gather here, the last weekend in August every year.

I (Tommy) took the trip to Valdres with the home-built caravan, a nice place to sleep for the weekend.

Arne Ivar and friends showed up with a great lavvo tent with a wood stove, which was a good supplement to the antifreeze we had on board. As a pleasant surprise, we met Magnar from Gran who participated with his great Valkyrie Interstate with a trailer. There were otherwise many great bikes to look at, with a large percentage of veterans.

Saturday was a fantastic day, so some of us took a ride. We rode the old road over Fillefjell mountain to Lærdalsdalen valley. There we followed the pleasant tourist routes along the river before taking a nice break with some food in Lærdal. We continued on to Årdal, and over the mountain to Tyin on the return to Mjøsvang. It was an incredibly beautiful round trip with fresh mountain air and clear weather.

Many thanks to Arne Ivar and friends for the invitation and effort with the campsite.

After the trip it was time for a barbecue and socializing. We also had a visit from a couple of people in the evening, which was very nice. Tommy also got to test drive Dag-Karel's HD Pan America. A powerful machine. All in all, a successful meeting with lots of fun, shared experiences and good stories.
